Name: Dean Winchester Door: (open designation) Submissive Canon: Supernatural Canon Point: End of Season 11 – 12 Age: 38 Appearance: ![]() ![]() History: wiki Personality: Dean was raised into the life of a hunter. There was always a road beneath him, roots were never tied down, and he never quite learned the taste of stability and intimacy. Losing his mother at a young age and having a father that didn't quite know how to live with the grief forced him to parent his younger brother, Sammy, and he’d never had the chance himself to be held or looked after throughout the former part of his life. The Winchesters, in general, are ones to keep a very tight-knit circle–for good reason–, but Dean even more so; he finds it best to keep others at a distance and ghosts in and out of people’s lives for the sole purpose of saving them, or carrying with him the grief that he couldn’t. It’s never something that he’d admit, not readily, but at his core, Dean is incredibly lonely, touch-starved and longing for closeness and warmth he doesn’t know how to foster or keep alive. Instead, he indulges reckless comforts and balms in the form of drinking and women. From what most see, he’s a playful, at times childish closet geek who doesn’t take life too seriously. In reality, he’s exhaustively hiding behind self-depreciative humor and coquettish remarks, and it’s slim to none other than the minimal amount of people he really trusts that someone sees into how bruised and tired he really is. LOYAL (+) & PROTECTIVE (+). All Dean's known since he was a young boy is looking out for his family, his brother, and with such a detached lifestyle it’s all he’s had going steady for him, a sort of ‘home’ that never really touches down in one place. After losing Mary, the boys' father falls down an unhealthy spiral of putting hunting before being a father, which has a really debilitating long-term affect on Dean as he gets older. Because of the fact that their father wasn't around, often leaving them behind in shitty motel rooms and disappearing on hunting trips, all he knows is protecting those he cares about and putting them before himself at all costs. DEPENDENT (-) & RECKLESS (-). The various lengths Dean will go to to make sure he isn't left alone are crippling, largely resulting from a co-dependency that's been built between him and his brother. He's made deals with crossroads demons and has more than once been willing to sacrifice his own life if his brother's was ever in any immediate danger. He is completely unaware of his own worth and considers it quite low, which may have grown from the fact that he'd never really gotten the chance to be a child or to be the one looked after. The attachment he has for his brother is hindering; Dean had never gotten to finish high school, while Sam pursued law school, got to experience the college life living with a girlfriend and essentially got himself 'out' of the family business. It's never been something Dean has been capable of; he doesn't know a way out, and it terrifies him that Sam has proven on more than one occasion that he has the capability to. The few times Dean truly believed that he'd lost his brother, he doesn't bother caring for himself, and his health depreciates. GUILT COMPLEX (-) & SELF-DESTRUCTIVE (-). Contingent on his reckless tendencies, more often than not Dean can be found at a bar, nursing whiskey bottles and glasses to try and dull the guilt and pressure that lives with him on a daily basis. He will go to incredible lengths to lose himself mindlessly so that he isn't left to his own thoughts, whether it's with alcohol or pleasure. Deep down Dean knows that his brother has the potential to live a normal life, one that isn't filled with death and never quite having that 'someone' at their side to settle down with. Dean was the one who'd shown up on Sam's doorstep and dragged him back into the 'life,' and living with that isn't an easy task. He blames himself anytime anything happens to Sam, anytime something happens to an innocent life they're trying to protect, and as time passes that guilt eats away more and more of him. It’s very evident that Dean is, simply, tired. He is ready for his road to end, and he knows how it does. He is ready to let Sam live the life he deserves, and knows that as long as he's alive, it will never happen. If he isn’t looking after someone, he stumbles with not quite knowing what to do with himself; everything is an excuse to bury his feelings, to avoid ‘that talk,’ to ensure his vulnerability isn’t seen. It’s easier for him to walk away, to throw back another drink or lose himself into the skin of a stranger than it is to look himself in the eye. “That’s what I’m supposed to say, right? 'I’m fine,' keep on moving? That’s what we all say.” Powers and Abilities: While he's been many things: a vampire, a demon, carrier of the Mark of Cain, Dean will be apped in as human, so he holds no powers that aren't of a skill-set variety (or nothing 'supernatural', I guess.) Said skill set is pretty damn impressive, though. He's really well versed in firearms and weaponry of any sort. He holds quite a fluent latin tongue and awareness of sigils when it comes to summoning and various spells for uses such as wards and traps for supernatural beings, which could ultimately come in handy if any other characters in provoke any sort of danger of the unnatural variety (assuming they don’t have a total power cap of course.). Margaritas and salt rings anyone? Inventory:
